Q: What is a ghost’s favorite fruit? |
Ever wonder which are fruits and which are vegetables? Watch this video!!!
The following are technically fruits: avocado, beans, pea-pods, corn kernels, cucumbers, grains, nuts, zucchini and other squashes, olives, peppers, pumpkin, squash, sunflower seeds and tomatoes. We think they heard that fruit was sweeter, and wanted to be a part of the group!
According to botanists (scientists who study plants) a fruit is the part of the plant that develops from a flower. It's also the section of the plant that contains the seeds. The other parts of plants are considered vegetables. These include the stems, leaves and roots — and even the flower bud.
From a culinary standpoint, vegetables are less sweet — or more savory — and served as part of the main dish. Fruits are more sweet and tart and are most often served as a dessert or snack. Both fruits and vegetables can be made into juice for a refreshing beverage. Some fruits are "grains" or "nuts" or "seeds" — and are served accordingly.

Jump Rope!
Learn how to jump rope by watching this video!!!
Many people consider jump rope to be a girls’ activity. However, in the United States, the game was first played only by boys. Girls were forbidden to participate! The origin of jumprope is unknown, but people think that early explorers saw people jumping vines and bamboo. There are old paintings, dating to the 1600s, showing children playing it in the street. When girls were finally permitted to play the game they still were not allowed to show their ankles, but they added the rhymes and chants that make the game so much fun!
